Mark Patton was born on Jersey, and studied Archaeology & Anthropolgy at Cambridge, before completing his PhD at University College London. He has taught at the Universities of Leiden, Paris 1, Wales, Greenwich, and Westminster, and currently teaches for The Open University. He is the author of three historical novels, as well as a number of academic books and journal articles in the fields of archaeology, history, and historical biography.
