Marie graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in Scottish History, Sociology and English. She taught English Language and Literature in Scotland, London and Prague and was an examiner in English Lit for the International Baccalaureate exam.
Her first venture into creative writing was in the 90’s when she co-wrote a play about the early Labour Party leader Keir Hardie, which toured West of Scotland during the Glasgow City of Culture. She has also contributed literary criticism to Voxlit under a pseudonym and is currently working on two novels.
